Meet Steve Dawe, Second-Generation Owner/Operator
Steve is a Rockford resident and Northview High School graduate and has been deeply rooted in the Grand Rapids, MI, area his entire life. As a teenager, he worked with his Dad in the asphalt business, learning the value of hard work as a young adult. Steve would go on to hone his skills in the metal fabrication industry. He started as a welder and worked his way to becoming a key member of the management team, overseeing customer interactions, quality control, and ensuring efficiency within a razor-thin tolerance of plus or minus .015 inches. Taking control of Quick & Thick in the spring of 2022, Steve carries on his father's legacy of serving both businesses and homeowners to continue providing asphalt maintenance services.
This meticulous attention to detail, cultivated over a decade of managing a metal fabrication shop, is what sets Steve—and Quick & Thick Asphalt—apart. Asphalt may be more forgiving than metal fabricating, but Steve’s approach remains unwaveringly precise. He believes in doing more than just laying down material; he aims to craft durable, aesthetically pleasing, and safe parking lots and driveways. After all, these are the first things visitors see, and first impressions matter!
